New research from the Centre highlights the dramatic racial ethnic differences in US life expectancy and mortality during COVID-19.
They found that in 2020 life expectancy for Hispanic and Black males saw major set-backs of 4.5 years and 3.6 years respectively, compared with a reduction of 1.5 years in White males’ life expectancy. More information on the study can be found here.
In this video, Dr Andrea Tilstra, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre, explores the significance of this research and its importance for addressing stark racial ethnic differences in US health and mortality.
