British Academy Knowledge Frontiers: International Interdisciplinary Research Projects 2025

This programme is open until 18 September 2024 and aims to support projects which engage with questions concerning the relationship between expertise, public understanding and policy delivery internationally, and highlight the importance of collaboration between communities of practice, disciplines, capacities and borders. Awards of 24 months in duration and up to £300,000 are available. 
 

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Researchers at Risk

This MSCA call is open 12 September 2024 to 14 January 2025, and aims to provide further support towards national and international organisations working with researchers at risk and aiming to enhance and professionalise their activities.
 

European Research Council Advanced Grant, €2.5-3.5 million for 5 years

The Advanced grant has yearly calls and is for established, leading Principal Investigators (PIs) who want long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, ambitious project. PIs are expected to be active researchers who have a track-record of significant research achievements.
 

Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorships

UK institutions can invite an eminent senior professor from overseas, to bring genuinely novel expertise and enhance the skills and knowledge of academic staff and students in an underrepresented area in the UK. A Visiting Professorship may last for between 3 and 12 months, and tenures of 6 months or more can be spread over 2 or more visits. Applications are invited for a minimum of £10,000 and a maximum of £150,000.
 

British Academy Visiting Fellowships

The Visiting Fellowships enable academics from any country overseas to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution of their choice for up to six months and develop collaborative projects with UK colleagues. Visiting Fellowships are available for a period of between three to six months, and the maximum funding available is £33,000.
